16.01.08 - Kinnasand winner of two interior innovation awards at imm cologne

Kinnasand has won two interior innovation awards cologne 2008 in the category Materials_Innovation, for both the new Kinnasand carpet ZENIT and the product group Metallic Textiles. This award is an international acknowlegment for design, innovation and outstanding product concepts.

A renowned jury of experts evaluate product innovation in the category Materials_Innovation, observing new products and the application of novel materials and material combinations as well as complex production techniques based on innovative design revelation.

Kinnasand ZENIT combines the traditional knotting technique with a timeless, modern design, giving this new article unique design properties for floor arrangements. The creation and crafting of extremely dense, short piled and iridescent, single coloured carpets is one of the major challenges in the art of making carpets. ZENIT is made from pure New Zealand wool and features a particularly dense quantity of 275.000 knots per m², thus establishing the most exclusive level of the Kinnasand Carpet Collection.

Metallic Textiles – Metal fabrics – technically sophisticated and innovative. Fabrics with metal content form a large and important part of the Kinnasand textile collection. Innovative materials and manufacturing procedures i.e. clip-cords, burn-outs, triple-layered fabrics and laser materials are being redefined in a new context of fabric tradition in this product group.

The interior innovation award cologne was presented for the sixth time during the imm cologne fair by the Kölnmesse in conjunction with the German Design Council and is internationally considered as a renowned award in the interior design sector.
